FIshing at Stevens Creek Reservoir

I went to Stevens Creek Reservoir yesterday. This is a nice man-made lake up in the hills of Cupertino. It is a nice place to go fishing for carp, rainbow trout, suckerfish, crappie, bass, bluegill, and catfish. This year, the water is the lowest it has ever been and I am concerned the whole thing may dry up before it rains. I usually use worms, which can be bought at the local liquor stores nearby. This time I caught a 3-4 carp, an 18 inch bass, and a 6 inch catfish and a small turtle. Usually I will only catch one or two species of fish here, but since the water is so low I believe they are all just hanging around each other. There is a nice picknic area half way around the lake where you don't need to pay for parking, while parking in the main lot is 5$. The park is open from 8am to sunset and the rangers do issue citations for those people who stay longer. They also stock the reservoir several times a year with rainbow trout. An important note for the fish here is that they are not edible. Their mercury level is too high.
